Random crap

When making peanut brittle it is not wise to poor the hot candy into a glass pan and expect to get it out easily.

I make damn good English Toffee.

After owning my cd player/changer for at least five years, today I realized it plays mp3s. I made a cd and I've been playing it since about 1:00 this afternoon. It's now after 5:00 and still playing. You are awed by my tech savvy, aren't you?

I didn't go to church this morning.

My car is still in the shop.

I forgot about the new television program The Walking Dead. I spent last Sunday afternoon watching all the episodes but the first one which wasn't available with video on demand, then watched the season finale that evening. I can't figure out what caused the people to become zombies. Is it a virus? Anyone?

For Christmas I got my daughter an otter box for her iphone. I should have given it to her early. She dropped it today and shattered the screen.

My phone is old and doesn't have even a camera, but if i break it it won't cost me a fortune to fix it. Well, I wouldn't bother fixing it. I'm good for a free upgrade. I just haven't done it.

I think cell phones are the worst invention ever.

I have broken every nail on my left hand this week. They grow and grow and suddenly one will break. Once one breaks they all start breaking.

You can thank me later for writing such an enlightening post.

I've written way worse. At least you caught us up. I'm with you on the nails too. It sucks.
Happy Holidays Hon :)

I didn't go to church either. Crummy mood...probably should've been mandatory then, huh? ;-)

Ditto on the nails, cell phones, and lack of technical savviness. I'm just now accepting that audio tapes are near-obsolete. [sigh]

Same to you, Rain!

AnObiter, I have a box full of cassette tapes in storage. I don't know what to do with them but I can't just throw them away.

My nails are always crap. Between, gardening, painting, stained glass and wood working, I am lucky to have fingers.

Do NOT toss out your cassette tapes. I never bought into CDs and was purchasing cassette tapes until about 3 years ago. Yep! I am slooooowww when it comes to embracing new technology. When I finally realized, tapes and cds are a thing of the past I researched how to turn my cassette tapes into mp3 format.

Here is the YouTube link with instructions. If you do not like this set of instructions there will be a list to the right. All you need is an audio cord (you can buy one at Radio Shack/Best Buy for cheap), a cassette player with an audio jack/ headphone jack to plug in your new audio cord and a computer with an audio jack and some time and before you know it, ALL of your cassette tapes will be mp3d.

Good luck. If you need help with it, give me a ring.

I am also not the huge fan of the cellphones. Think it's great to be able to be in touch, but seems like too many folks take that as a mandate that they must be in touch.

Am amused to see how engrossed some folks get with the texting/gaming on their phones.

On the other hand, I have no desire to join the cellphone police department, so I guess folks can do what they want with them.

Cool beans on the MP3 CDs. I recorded one or two of those a couple of years ago, but had difficulty getting my player (which does play MP3 encoded discs), to play uninterrupted like you describe. I had to keep advancing it or somesuch.

Thanks Mz, that's a cool idea and I will check it out when I have time. I hope the cassettes will still play, they're all so old now.

Jartard, we are in agreement regarding cellphones.

Donald, I've made 2 cds now and have had no problem at all getting them to play.
I only play cellphone police at my daughter's when everyone but the baby is more engrossed in their phones than in what's going on in their living room.

Finally have a job, just part time, still looking for a full time job in the field for which I am trained, or anything, for that matter.

I am not dead, or afraid, just busy and disinterested in blogging for the moment.
