Renter's Lament and Misc.

On the bright side, a renter doesn't have to pay to have something fixed when it breaks. On the other hand, it bites to have to wait for the landlord to get around to fixing something, or to have them fix it by only doing just enough to get by.

My daughter called after Jackson's doctor appointment this morning. He's in the 95th percentile for weight, weighing 14.5 pounds, and he's off the charts for height, at 25.75 inches long. It's no surprise he's tall since his daddy is 6'2" and his mama is tall for a girl...plus his granny ain't short at 5'10". He's so dang cute when you can get him to smile. He's stingy with them, though, so it feels like an accomplishment when you can do something silly enough for long enough to get a smile out of him. I love having him study me as closely as he does and wonder what's going on behind those big brown eyes.

We went to Joe's Crab Shack to eat last Sunday. My oldest grandson really gets into his crab legs. The child had crab seasoning from stem to stern by the time he finished eating. I don't like seafood but the entertainment was good.

I'm glad I don't have to get out on Fridays when the weather is nasty like it is today. Of course, staying in would be even more enjoyable if the heater was working. Still, it's warmer inside than out, and dry.

The teacher that took over the class that Mr. Eye-candy was supposed to teach is no bueno. She's nice enough but she's very fond of giving homework and she's not nearly as nice to look at.

I'm liking the family law class. I'd like to work for a family law attorney.

I hadn't planned on going through graduation ceremonies in May, but the family is making a big deal out of it. They're all planning on coming down from Kansas. It's only an associate's degree, for crying out loud. I'd rather skip the ceremony and go straight to the party. I am blessed with a wonderful family and I appreciate all the support they've given me in the last couple of years.

In the midst of typing this they came and fixed my heater. Yay.

My dear: at all hazards and cost participate in the ceremony. You may not have have any idea the encouragement that can and will have for you later when you get bogged down in more advanced studies.
I've just been offered a case in Fort Worth- looks bad and getting worse? I heard. Hope I don't end up upside down in a ditch. Well, yes I've been there before so should be no big deal, but that was in the misspent days of my youth...
Is catfish seafood? Is my white trash showing through?
Have a good day and weekend.
Are you better now???

I hope your old bones survive being upside down in a ditch since they're not as pliable as they were in your misspent youth, seeing as how you're such an old codger now. Be careful!

I'm feeling mucho better now, thanks for asking.

JCS is one of my favorites-yumm but NOT the steamed menu, crawdads? Ill pass ew. DO the ceremony, you are working your ass off for the degree, you deserve your 'moment'! Jackson sounds like a handsome fellow, you are blessed. I am beginning to think Wee one is turning into the cutest brat from hell. Its our fault, we made him that way........

Wee One is a cutie pie for sure, but aren't they ALL brats at one time or another?

I'd rather have my moment when toasting to The End!
