what the...?

OK, all you Texans, what kind of bug does this? At first I thought they were ants but there are no ants around the little divets. If you watch closely you can see something throw up little puffs of dirt. It kind of looks like someone has been walking around in spike heels.

That's what I was afraid of too, Gia, but I was told they're antlions (aka doodlebugs)...never heard of them before today.

Ant Lions [larval]!! Man we used to have a ball with those things. Catch an ant and drop it in the little funnel and see what happens!

Yep, definitely doodlebugs.

Pretty interesting, but I don't think I'll be gathering ants to throw to their doom.

Then my dear I was incorrect in my estimation of you: you do NOT know how to live! Tossing ants to their doom in an ant lion den is where it's at baby!
It's like you're 8 AND Nero at the same time!

Chup, I don't even kill spiders in the house. I catch them and put them outside. I lack a killer instinct.
