It's all about me Me ME, your humble faux queen

Day before yesterday I came home from walking my dog and couldn't get back in the house. For some reason my key wasn't working. I could hear the lock mechanism tumbling but it wouldn't move the deadbolt. I didn't have my cellphone with me to call anyone. My neighbor managed to get the lock to work about an hour later. It was a miserable time. Kudos to people who can stand to work outside in this heat, there's no way I could manage it on a physical level. I took my phone along on yesterday's walk, but of course the key has worked properly ever since.

(30 minutes after writing the paragraph above)I just got back from today's dog walk. This is a stupid time of day to go but I have school in the morning when it's coolest and this neighborhood scares me after dark, besides the mosquitos are worse then. I am rethinking summer being my favorite season now, at least summers in Texas.

I cannot wait to finish school and enter the workforce. I'm frightened I won't be able to find a job because I have no prior work experience to put on a resume. Is anyone going to hire a soon to be 51 year old without a job history? Also, most want ads I've seen for paralegals normally ask for someone with 2-5 years of legal office experience. I'm hoping the internship I'll do through school this coming school year will help with that. If I was asked to give any advice to young women I'd tell them to get their education, start a career early and never ever trust a man enough to be a stay at home mom. Be your own person and not some man's shadow. I made such stupid mistakes, but I'm working on them.

My summer class ends next week. During the remainder of my summer break I think I will go sit in on some trials.

S.C. Governor Mark Sanford is a pathetic, weak, little man. I haven't seen his news conference but I've heard about it. I hope his adultery was worth ruining his family and career. Too bad all adulterers aren't held up to that kind of scrutiny.

Though the scrutiny is not public most people, look with disdain, at men who have left their wives and families of many years. I asked my husband how other men view men who walk out on their wife and children. My Mr. answered; their integrity and character are always questioned and most men consider the cheaters to be dogs and not "lucky" dogs. A cheater's children always know the cheater is the one who trashed their family and traded it for a piece of tail.

I agree that all women should obtain their education prior to marrying and having and raising children. If a woman agrees to be a stay at home mother she should obtain a contract from her spouse that assures her, that should the marriage end, she will be entitled to 60% of all assets and 30% of her spouses annual income for every year she remained a stay at home mother/wife. For instance if she was a stay at home mother for 4 years and the marriage ends she receives 30% of her ex-spouses annual income as alimony for 4 years after the end of the marriage the same goes for 10 years and so on. After 20 years she is not only entitled to 30% of his income she is entitled to 50% of his retirement for as long as she lives and is listed as the beneficiary to that retirement in the event he dies prior to his ex-spouse of 20+ years.

If husbands/wives had to REALLY pay for ditching their spouse they would think twice prior to cheating.

Cheaters should be made to realize, cheating has consequences that include more than just breaking up their family. Cheaters should be made to pay for the damages they cause.

Congrats to you for getting on with building your new life. Believe it or not, frequently the job experience requirement has more to do with employers attempting to hire someone who is responsible than it has to do with hiring someone with actual experience in the field.

I wish I'd had your perspective on the subject of settlements a year ago when I was going through my divorce.

I feel vindicated about my feelings on cheating after reading your POV too.

I love your comments Mzchief.

You're on thin ice, Mister Chupacabra. I'm telling your wife she needs to keep you on a leash and away from Argentinian women.
