I abhor people who feed off of someone else's misfortune! Especially when it's mine they're gossiping about. Facebook is good for catching up with friends, but it sucks when a perceived friend is only trying to get the goods on you. I should've known better. I would soooo love to tell her the real story because she sure as heck isn't going to get it from the other party.

There are those who'll find a way to abuse every system. I have a word for such people, but your blog doesn't have the content agreement upon entering....;-)

Keep in mind, ignorance can be cured with knowledge and there is no cure for STUPID. Only STUPID people believe one side of the story without bothering to get the other side. From the sounds of things, your "friend" would gain nothing if you provided her additional knowledge. Save your breath and emotional energy for the people in your life who really matter.
Just be you and realize, she is doomed to forever be STUPID HER and in being her has forever lost the gift of your friendship.
Sorry to hear about your problem. The type of people you mention are not your REAL friends so I would write it off as their loss.
There should be a requirement that you have to dump your FB page when you turn 40. Too many other important ways to spend time.
